    技術の成熟化に伴い,近年の製品開発では,性能や機能性での差別化は困難になってきており,意匠性や快適性などの人間の感性に評価を依存する品質による差別化が求められている.
    本研究では人間の感性に評価を依存する品質の中から製品意匠に注目し,顧客が既存製品に対して実施した感性評価結果から,顧客が最も「欲しい」と感じる製品意匠を導出するために,製品の意匠特徴と顧客の感性評価の関係をラフ集合や自己組織化写像,人工ニューラルネットワーク,深層学習などの分析方法と,遺伝的アルゴリズムなどの最適化手法を組み合わせた意匠設計支援法の検討を行う.

    Friction stir welding of aluminum alloys is today an essential joining technic for various industrial sectors. However, making a quality joint is relatively expensive compared to the electric arc welding processes. The aim of this work is to maximize the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of AA3004-H32 aluminum alloy butt joint and minimize its production cost. The welding parameters are rotational speed, welding speed, and pin shape of the tool. Then, a test campaign is carried out according to the Box-Behnken design of experiments. Mathematical models of power consumption and ultimate tensile strength were developed by multiple linear regression. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the experimental data revealed the preponderant effect of the tool rotational speed and the pin profile on the studied responses. The bi-objective optimization problem was solved using the genetic algorithm and optimal welding parameters were presented. In terms of joint quality and electrical energy consumption, the results showed that the tool rotational speed plays a key role, and that the threaded cylindrical profile of the pin is the most preferred compared to other studied shapes. The welding speed is the most significant parameter in reducing welding costs. The approach proposed in this study can be used as a guide and recommendation to reduce FSW costs and at the same time ensure the quality of the AA3004-H32 alloy joint.

    Product recommendation systems have been instrumental in online commerce since the early days. Their development is expanded further with the help of big data and advanced deep learning methods, where consumer profiling is central. The interest of the consumer can now be predicted based on the personal past choices and the choices of similar consumers. However, what is currently defined as a choice is based on quantifiable data, like product features, cost, and type. This paper investigates the possibility of profiling customers based on the preferred product design and wanted affects. We considered the case of vase design, where we study individual Kansei of each design. The personal aspects of the consumer considered in this study were decided based on our literature review conclusions on the consumer response to product design. We build a representative consumer model that constitutes the recommendation system's core using deep learning. It asks the new consumers to provide what affect they are looking for, through Kansei adjectives, and recommend; as a result, the aesthetic design that will most likely cause that affect.

    This paper suggests a method for vibration sensor placement in Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) composite structures in small structure applications where the measuring instrument weight can affect the vibrational characteristics. Considering the actual weight of the beam and the actual weight of the vibrational sensor and connecting cables. We performed a set of structural vibration experiments in various sensor positions and used the experimental results as a reference through the inverse problems technique. And Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for numerical modelling, in which the sensors are modelled as an additional mass on the beam and the virtual springs are modelled with variable rigidity. We employ the Teaching-Learning-Based Optimization Algorithm (TLBO) to identify the optimal sensor placement location. The results indicate that this application can explain the effect of sensor placement. In a second application, we consider the problem of the cracked beam and the prediction of damage severity and crack depth with the help of a formulation for crack location. Results of this Application show that the proposed approach can serve in solving both problems.

    Metaheuristic algorithms have known vast development in recent years. And their applicability in engineering projects is constantly growing; however, their deferent exploration and exploitation techniques cause the engineering problems to favor some algorithms over others. This paper studies damage identification in steel plates using Frequency Response Function (FRF) damage indicator to detect and localize the healthy and damaged structure. The study is formulated as an inverse analysis, investigating the performance of three new metaheuristic algorithms of Wild Horse Optimizer (WHO), Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO), and Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm (AOA). The objective function is based on measured and calculated FRF damage indicators. The results showed that the case of four damages with different damage severity levels presented a good challenge where the HWO algorithm was shown to have the best performance. Both in convergence speed and CPU time.

    This paper proposes a new metaheuristic algorithm with a search space reduction capability guided by simple formalism. The search population focuses partially on the inside the local search area while the rest explore globally, looking for better search areas. We call the new algorithm by YUKI Algoritm (YA) and employ it in a crack identification problem. With the aid of a set of measurements taken on the defected structure, we aim at identifying the crack parameters such as length and orientation. To this end, we use the so-called model reduction technique through Proper orthogonal Decomposition (POD) endorsed with Radial Basic Function (RBF), which helps in predicting (numerically) the measurement at new points (out of the set of sensors) via interpolation. This method is widely used in this context and was proven very effective computational-wise. In our study of the performance of YA, we deal with two cases; Firstly, in the case of the Elastostatic study. And secondly, in the case of dynamic analysis. We compare the performance of the suggested algorithm with the performance of well-known optimization methods, such as Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO), Cuckoo Search (CS), and the Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO). The results show that YA provides accurate and faster results compared to the mentioned algorithms.

    The need for a robust indoor localization solution is mounting in the recent few year, as the IoT technology is growing fast. In this paper, we discuss existing indoor localization approaches, focusing on the signal strength fingerprint approaches, to which belongs the presented study and based on Bluetooth Low Energy signal. The proposed approach employs the Radial Basis Functions (RBF) to create model that describe the real signal strength-position relationship. The present method is fully implemented on a smart phone, namely, offline data collection, model computation and online position estimation. This allow updating the model by collecting more signal data, therefore improving the localization accuracy with small efforts. The presented results shows that updating the model effectively improves the accuracy of estimation.

    Indoor position of devices and persons is a very valuable information for context-aware devices and human activity recognition. The need of such information grows bigger by the advancement of IoT technologies. In this paper, we discuss existing indoor positioning approaches and their applications, give specific interest to the signal strength fingerprint approaches, to which belongs the presented paper. Bluetooth Low Energy Beacons are used as the source of the signal, and the Radial Basis Functions method is employed to create a model that relates to signal strength and position. The proposed approach allows the possibility of making all the computation on a smartphone application, namely, offline data collection and model computation, and online position estimation. Besides, it allows updating the model later.

    Jaya algorithm is a swarm optimization algorithm, formulated on the concept where the solution obtained for a given problem moves toward the best solution and away from the worst solution. Despite being a very simple algorithm, it has shown excellent performance for various application. It has been claimed that Jaya algorithm is parameter-free. Here, we want to investigate the question whether introducing parameters in Jaya might be of advantage. Results show the comparison of the results for different benchmark function, indicating that, apart from a few exceptions, generally no significant improvement of Jaya can be achieved this way. The conclusion is that we have to consider the operation of Jaya differently from a modified PSO and more in the sense of a stochastic gradient descent.

    The problems facing elderly who are living independently, are considered to be one of the most important motivations of the activity recognition research. The advances in sensing technologies allow collecting several types of data and communicate it wirelessly. However, most existing activity recognition systems requires pre-calculated pattern recognition models. This paper lays the theoretical foundations of a real-time methodology for activity and emotional recognition based on body and environment sensors simultaneously, then tackles one aspect of the method which is the path estimation using chest-mounted IMU sensor, for which a zero velocity update criteria is proposed. Finally path estimation results for sitting down, laying down, falling down and standing up are discussed.

    Complex engineering problems require simulations, which are computationally expensive in cases of inverse identification tasks since they commonly requires hundreds of thousands of simulations. This paper propose a method based on model reduction for crack size estimation, combining the proper orthogonal decomposition method with radial basis functions. The reduced model is validated by comparing the obtained boundary displacements with the corresponding results from a finite element model. This inverse procedure is formulated as the minimization of the difference between the measured and computed values of displacement at selected boundary nodes, called sensor points, using particle swarm optimization algorithm. Convex and a non-convex specimens have been considered for investigations of crack presence, and identification of its size, different crack sizes have been tested to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.

    Product recommendation systems have been instrumental in online commerce since the early days. Their development is expanded further with the help of big data and advanced deep learning methods, where consumer profiling is central. The interest of the consumer can now be predicted based on the personal past choices and the choices of similar consumers. However, what is currently defined as a choice is based on quantifiable data, like product features, cost, and type. This paper investigates the possibility of profiling customers based on the preferred
    product design and wanted affects. We considered the case of vase design, where we study individual Kansei of each design. The personal aspects of the consumer considered in this study were decided based on our literature review conclusions on the consumer response to product design. We build a representative consumer model that constitutes the recommendation system's core using deep learning. It asks the new consumers to provide what affect they are looking for, through Kansei adjectives, and recommend; as a result, the aesthetic design that will
    most likely cause that affect.
